We spent time preparing the raised beds for planting, topping them up with plenty of well rotted manure with woodchip, which was full of our fabulous friendly garden helpers… worms! Such fun watching them quickly burrow down into the beds with us providing a distraction for all the birds.

On Friday we’ll be getting back to sowing more seeds, planting and of course a spot of weeding. Along with good conversations and cups of tea.

If you fancy coming along to join us, we are open from 11am to 2pm on Wednesday’s, Friday’s and Sunday’s

Let’s Grow Together

  • Several raised garden beds—painted red and gray—are arranged neatly on a woodchip-covered surface. Each bed is filled with dark soil, ready for planting. In the background, leafless trees line the edge of a grassy area under a bright blue sky. A simple wooden frame structure stands nearby, possibly for supporting climbing plants. The setting appears well-maintained and organized, with a natural, open landscape surrounding the garden.
  • A garden bed is covered with a thick layer of dark compost, spread evenly across the soil surface. Small green plants poke through the compost in a few spots. In the background, a wheelbarrow, a tarp-covered pile, and gardening tools are visible, suggesting recent garden work. The area is outdoors in a cultivated garden space with wooden borders outlining the beds. The compost looks moist and freshly turned.
  • A large wooden raised garden bed filled with freshly turned dark soil sits outdoors on a sunny day. The bed is positioned on a woodchip-covered ground, with a fenced growing area behind it that includes netting draped along the frame. In the background, there are leafless trees, low shrubs, and open countryside beneath a clear blue sky with light wispy clouds. The scene feels calm and ready for spring planting.
  • A four-panel collage shows close-up views of pinkish-red earthworms moving through dark, moist compost. The worms are partially curled and partially extended, their segmented bodies visible against a textured mix of decomposing plant matter, small wood fragments, and soil. The compost appears crumbly and nutrient-rich, with bits of straw and organic debris scattered throughout. Lighting highlights the sheen on the worms’ bodies and the dampness of the compost.
