We’re delighted to share that we’ve been awarded £15,550
from the National Lottery Community Fund to improve the
car park at the community garden. This much-needed
upgrade will make the garden far more accessible,
particularly during the wetter months of the year.
The community garden shares its grounds with
Okehampton Men in Sheds, a group with a strong and
active membership. This funding will benefit their members
as well, making it wonderful news for the wider community.
Our garden hosts a vibrant programme of workshops and
events throughout the year, including monthly Shamanic
Drumming with Rowena Hillier, Reiki Exchange for
practitioners with Christine Star, Play Dates for children
under 8 every Thursday, weekly Produce Days, for sale every
Friday, and our regular Seeds of Conversation meet-ups to
plan what’s next for the garden. We also hold open
gardening sessions on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays
from 11am to 2pm – everyone is welcome.
We are also incredibly grateful to our West Devon Borough
and Devon County Councillors for additional funding to
support our connection to the South West Water supply.
While we’ll do our best to keep disruption to a minimum,
Play Dates will be paused during the works for health and
safety reasons. We appreciate your understanding and continued support!
